Swedish Massage and Contraction Release Therapy (CRT) Certification Program
The programme will cover the same massage techniques as the Myomassology programme, but the only modality included is the CRT. This will enable graduates to have a complete therapeutic massage treatment that can effectively manage most of the common complaints of clients. As a student you will learn how to massage the whole body from foot to head as well as how to assess clients needs and implement CRT to effectively manage chronic pain. This programme is for those who are only interested in Swedish massage or are looking for a shorter training time when compared to the Myomassology programme. Unlike the Myomassology programme, students will not be eligible for NHPC (Natural Health Practitioners of Canada) membership.Swedish massage techniques are all taught in-class with anatomy and physiology being studied at home at your own pace. All students are required to complete practicums at home to gain certification. The massage techniques taught incorporate a slightly different approach to traditional massage therapy. Although the techniques are the same, a more fluid whole-body experience is gained.
As part of the programme Contraction Release Therapy (CRT) will also be taught in-class. This treatment was designed to help release tightened contracted muscles to help alleviate pain and increase mobility. The concept of this treatment also looks at the symmetry of the pelvis, as it is thought that the leading cause of back pain is an asymmetrical pelvis. Using CRT it is possible to regain symmetry of the pelvis alleviating painful areas of the back, neck and shoulders. During classes students will learn what to look for and how to regain symmetry of the pelvis.
Upon successful completion of the course students will receive a certificate from Aromatica. As a graduate you will be able to open a private practice, work in spas and other health care practices.
