It originates from India where it has been practised inside the home to promote long, glossy, healthy hair and to help prevent greying. If is often referred to as Champissage and has its roots in Ayurvedic medicine. The techniques have grown with its popularity and now include neck, back, shoulder and face. Pressure points are used to alleviate tension and reduce fatigue. There are 3 major chakras or energy centres in the head: crown, brow and throat. Head massage can help to balance these centres bringing a sense of well-being and relaxation. Massage techniques are firm and easy to learn, even if you have no body work experience.
