Myomassology Certification Program
This program’s course material and certification is supplied by Aromatica and your trainer is licensed by Aromatica. Currently, Aromatica is the only recognised programme in Canada that enables students to apply for the designation of Canadian Registered Myomassologist upon completion. As a graduate of the programme, you will be fully equipped to offer a full-service practice, meeting the growing demand for multi-disciplinary holistic treatments.Myomassology differs from traditional massage therapy offered by Registered Massage Therapists in Ontario by offering treatments that incorporate different modalities. As a Myomassologist you will be trained in other modalities enabling treatments to be tailored to individual needs.
This 600hr programme includes home study, practical in-class training, as well as documented practical work outside of class. The programme is offered on a yearly basis and takes place on weekends throughout the year, usually 2 weekends per month. The programme offers training in Myomassology, Reflexology, Craniosacral Therapy, Contraction Release Therapy, Indian Head Massage, Pregnancy massage, Tuina Chinese Medical Massage, Traditional Chinese Fire Cupping and cupping massage. Most of these modalities are certificate courses requiring practicums to be completed at home.
The in-class training will take place in one of two locations, depending on class sizes. Training locations are either in Port Elgin or Kincardine, both of which are close to amenities and restaurants. Both locations are within a couple of hours drive from Orangeville, London, Cambridge, Kitchener, Barrie and Collingwood. You can always bring the family for a weekend break to enjoy the Lake Huron shoreline! You will be given the location once all registrations are complete. As a graduate of the course, you can apply to the Canadian Examining Board of Myomassology Practitioners for your registration number and the professional designation of Canadian Registered Myomassologist (CRM); or in Quebec you can apply for the designation of Registered Massage Therapist of Quebec (RMQ). Graduates can also become members of the NHPC (Natural Health Practitioners of Canada) which is the largest professional massage association in Canada. Members can purchase professional liability insurance as well as commercial insurance for a much-reduced fee. The NHPC has extensive access to continued competency programmes and modules. The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) also fully recognises the Myomassology Programme, allowing graduates to become full professional members of the AMTA.
Graduates will have opportunities to work in multi-disciplinary establishments, Natural Health Clinics, Health Spas, Cruise Ships, Resorts, as well as establishing their own business.
